(Welcome to the website of the Bearsden Art Club.

The Club was founded in 1953 and held its first exhibition in 1958

The club holds a series of lectures and arts demonstrations between October and March each year. It also supports artist-led art classes for its members.

There is an Annual Exhibition which is usually held at the Lillie Gallery in Milngavie and an Annual Sale of Paintings

Award Winners 2015:

The prizes were awarded at the Preview of the Annual Exhibition on the 27th of March 2015:

The Gregor Ian Smith Prize awarded for the best painting on the theme "Light and Shade'

was awarded to Mrs Julia Gurney for "Loch Long" (watercolour)



The Milennium Bowl prize awarded to the student of the Club art class who made greatest progress this session

was awarded to Mrs Agnes Sutherland for "Gondolas at Rest" (batik on silk)

The current Art Class session has finished.

The classes will re-start in October






Membership information: membership of the Club is open to the residents of Bearsden and Milngavie. The Club membership is limited to 200. There is currently a waiting list for membership.
